Kyle J. Fender

An alumnus of CircuitRunners Robotics @ Wheeler High School, he started in FIRST during 8th grade with the team as a shadow to the varsity FRC team. Later on, he joined the varsity team as a freshman; working up the ranks from a team member in freshman year, to a captain & Executive Board member from sophomore year through senior year.  His only work wasn’t just inside the shop; but out and about in the community as well as a FLL/FTC/FRC volunteer, instructor, mentor, and advocate to local companies and corporations. Winning the Dean’s List Award in 2010, Kyle J. started to work more within his state’s FIRST organization, GeorgiaFIRST, as a guest speaker and general volunteer.

Currently, Kyle works in several capacities with FIRST. He is a team mentor with his alma mater, CircuitRunners Robotics (1002), and as a mentor for the Girl Scouts FTC team GENIUS Robotics (5875). He also work as the Executive Director for the SynergyFIRST Robotics Initiative with the East Cobb YMCAs in Marietta, Georgia, running their STEM education program and acting as Head Coach for their FIRST LEGO League competition teams.

He works also in  GeorgiaFIRST as a member of the Executive Advisory Council/Regional Planning Commitee,  a member of the referee team for the FIRST Robotics Peachtree Regional, and as a referee and emcee for the GeorgiaFIRST FTC qualifiers & state championships. Kyle also works with several Dean’s List members internationally on getting new DL students assimilated into the Dean’s List network. And finally, he serves nationally on an internal advisory board for FIRST.
